Mitsuno Bamboo

Nozomi Kanda is an internationally acclaimed flutist who has performed in numerous countries, including Belgium, Japan, and Spain, collaborating with renowned artists and ensembles. She specializes in 20th-century Japanese music, premiering works by composers like David Loeb and Jean-Pierre Deleuze. 

Nozomi also plays the shinobue and regularly performs traditional Japanese music with ensembles, koto, shamisen etc. Nozomi is a graduate of the Mons Royal Conservatory, and the Tosha school of Japanese Traditional Music.

Miriam started her studies in modern flute at the Royal Conservatories of Brussels, whereafter she continued her bachelors with Valerie Debaele in Tilburg (NL). At the Royal Conservatoire de Liège she obtained her masters in flute with Toon Fret, and her masters in piccolo with Miriam Arnold. She also has a degree in engineering, specialised in artifical intelligence. She envisions to combine both passions in her daily life. As a musician she mainly plays chamber music in different formations.

Itsumi studied modern flute at the Kunitachi College of Music in Japan. She is particularly motivated by historically based musical expression.

From 2016 she studied Flauto Traverso with Frank Theuns and Anna Besson at Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. She is currently studying harpsichord with Ewald Demeyere at IMEP.

She performed J.S. Bach’s St. Matthew Passion with La Petite Bande under the direction of Sigiswald Kuijken at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam in 2022 and 2023.
